What is RSS?

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) provides a convenient way for you to gather and quickly browse news and information from a variety of sources. Small amounts of content, called “feeds,” are automatically sent to an RSS reader. Feeds are comprised of a headline, an image or video, a summary, and a preview or link to the complete content.

Subscribing to an RSS means news from multiple sources comes to you instead of you searching through various sites on various topics.

What is an RSS reader?

To access RSS content, you must first install an RSS reader on your computer or mobile device. Through an RSS reader, you can scan feeds from various sources quickly, and you can link directly to any news source from a single view.

There are many different RSS readers available, some are available at no cost and some available for a small fee. Once you have installed your RSS reader, just follow your reader's instructions to configure your settings. Review this directory of readers to select the best option for you.
